Recording "My Dreamland Girl" by Joe Hill

Recording “My Dreamland Girl” by Joe Hill

Bucky is currently in the studio working on a CD of Joe Hill songs in commemoration of Joe Hill’s untimely execution on November 19, 1915, in Salt Lake City, UT, after a biased Court found him guilty of murder.  Bucky has been researching Joe Hill songs for years and has unearthed some never recorded tunes.  The collection will be a must have for any activist, labor-type music historian and fans of American political music.  Hill’s tunes ranged from rousing IWW street songs to tender, sentimental love songs captured in the style of the day, which was Tin Pan Alley.  Not your usual folk songs for sure.  Keep checking back for status on this recording and also find him on Facebook for more information.  This project is supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
