Hey,
My name is Madison. I am 12 years old. I have chosen the Cherry Hill disaster for my 7th Grade Science Fair project. I am looking for information for my project.

How many people were saved in the disaster ? How many died in this disaster? How did the community repopulate after this disater? Did this result in the child labor act? Did people actually have to bury themselves alive?? Why didn't the fireman continue to go on down into the mine to look for people even if they could've found a way to put out the last of the fires and maybe there would be a chance of finding more people alive?? And in the book "Trapped" what happened to the man in the situation of haveing like a 6 month old baby and wife and was one of the people who survived and had to build that wall??Why was the statue made again? And could you give me some "safe" websites that will help me learn more about this horrible accident? Could you give me a website that shows me the Chicago newspaper and different views on the story?

I would appreciate any help that you could possibly give me concerning the Cherry Hilll Mine disaster.

Thank you for your time and for reading.

Sincerely,
Madison
